The editorial method
Context comes before the cleaning instruction
Every Skye guide starts by defining the situation: an already maintained room that needs a quick reset, a fresh spill that needs containment, a material that needs identification, or a property handoff that needs a complete sequence. Those are different problems. A five-minute ritual should never be mistaken for a deep clean, and a first response should not be presented as guaranteed stain removal. We write the purpose, preparation, method, stop conditions, and handoff in that order so the reader can decide whether the guide actually fits the moment before reaching for a product or tool.
Our editorial standard favors useful boundaries over dramatic promises. Results can depend on construction, prior treatment, access, weather, and material condition. Local context appears only when it changes the decision, such as building access or coastal film. The result is practical guidance that respects the limits of routine care.
